The Aboriginal Tourism Association of Southern Ontario welcomes you to our traditional homeland. We invite you to visit our communities, explore our culture and celebrate our way of life….. RIGHT HERE IN SOUTHERN ONTARIO.

Surrounded by three Great Lakes and full of splendid natural surroundings, Southern Ontario is Canada's number one vacation destination. From the serenity of quiet lakes to the vitality of our Capital Cities, you are sure to find a tourist experience like no other. This beautiful place is the traditional homeland to many diverse nations of Aboriginal people who have lived in harmony with the vast forests, abundant lakes, rivers and wildlife since time immemorial. Today these Aboriginal communities invite visitors to experience their homeland as seen through their own eyes, enriched with the teachings and stories of their ancestors.

The Aboriginal Tourism Association of Southern Ontario proudly represents a number of unique Aboriginal tourism businesses who can help you experience Southern Ontario in a new way; engaging your hands, your heart and your mind in a journey of cultural discovery. Whether planning a voyage across Southern Ontario or looking for something new to discover in your own backyard you are sure to find the right experience on this website. From traditional dance theatre packages in Ottawa to weekend long cultural retreats on beautiful Manitoulin Island… and from elegant country inns to traditional tipi camps… there truly is an authentic Aboriginal experience to fulfill any visitor's desire.

To help make the planning of your trip a little easier, you can explore what our membership has to offer visitors to Southern Ontario in two ways... one is by searching the region you are visiting in Southern Ontario and the second is to search the type of tourism experience you are interested in. If you are traveling to a particular region of Southern Ontario (ie Southwestern Ontario), you could browse the "Visit our Communities" section of this website. If you are searching for a particular type of tourism product or experience (for example a cottage rental or cultural heritage site) you can browse the "Experience our Culture" section of the website. If you do not find the information you are looking for we encourage you to contact ATASO directly for help in planning your next visit to Southern Ontario.
