Women's Enterprise Centre of Manitoba

The Women's Enterprise Centre of Manitoba (WEC) is a non-profit* organization funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada and dedicated to helping entrepreneurial women start and grow their businesses. The WEC offers innovative support and opportunities throughout Manitoba, including business advice, seminars, and business loans.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants can be sole proprietors, partnerships or corporations, but businesses have to be 50% or more woman-owned and controlled.

Eligible Area

The head office of the business must be located in Manitoba.

Eligible Activities

Eligible activities are the establishment, the purchase or the expansion of a business in Manitoba.

Summary

Business Advice

Business advice is provided on subjects such as new business feasibility, business plan development, start-up procedures, marketing strategies, and expansion planning.

Business Loans

The Loan Program offers many benefits including:

• no monthly fees;
• competitive interest rates;
• no cost or penalties for early repayment;
• flexible equity and collateral security requirements;
• business planning assistance;
• loans in any amount up to $100 000 are available; 
• terms of up to five years.
