Additional Resources for New Canadians

Doing Business as a New Canadian provides an overview of the resources that would be of interest to immigrants in Nova Scotia looking for information on starting a business.

Through Immigrant Business Development Services (IBDS), the Metropolitan Immigrant Settlement Association (MISA) offers new Canadians the information, contacts, and confidence they need to become established in the business community.

The Business Immigration Program encourages international business people to invest in the Canadian economy. Business immigrants are people who can invest in, start, or buy businesses in Canada and are expected to support the development of a strong and prosperous Canadian economy. The Business Immigration Program seeks to attract people experienced in business to Canada.

Invest in Canada provides a variety of resources, links to services, and expertise to help non-Canadians with their investment or in the creation of a new business.

The above resources relate specifically to New Canadians thinking of starting a business. For additional information, please search our site, refer to our Business Guides, or contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable Business Information Officers.
