Dental Technician / Denturist

The following is meant solely to help the reader understand the main features of primary regulations governing this activity, and not meant in any way to provide a legal interpretation.

Dental Technicians
The College of Dental Technicians of British Columbia is the regulatory body established to govern the practice of dental technology. In 1995, cabinet approved the Dental Technicians Regulation which designates dental technology as a regulated profession as pursuant to the Health Professionals Act. Registrants of the College may perform the acts set out in the Dental Technicians Regulations.

No one may use the name Dental Technician, Certified Dental Technician or Registered Dental Technician nor provide the services of a Dental Technician unless he or she is registered with the College.

Denturists
The College of Denturists of British Columbia was established under the Health Professions Act on December 7, 1995, to regulate the practice of denturism in British Columbia. The College derives its authority from the Health Professions Act.
