Industrial Work Camp
The following is meant solely to help the reader understand the main features of primary regulations governing this activity, and not meant in any way to provide a legal interpretation.
Health Protection Planning:
The Health Protection Planning Division is responsible for the development and implementation of legislation, policies and programs in the areas of Environmental Health Protection, Community Care Facilities and Emergency Preparedness.
Health Protection Planning also works closely with the BC Centre for Disease Control developing Food Protection and Radiation Protection programs.
These activities support BC's Health Authorities, which are responsible for the delivery of Health Protection programs, and the prevention of disease potentially arising from unsanitary practices or exposure to environmental health and safety hazards.
Health Protection Programs are administered locally through Health Authorities by Medical Health Officers, Environmental Health Officers, and Licensing Officers who are responsible for direct service delivery.
These local programs provide surveillance and monitoring of activities and premises, which may affect the public's health. They also provide interventions to reduce risks to the public health and safety.
