BC Safety Authority
The BCSafety Authiority is responsible for administering the Gas Safety Regulation under the Safety Standards Act. This act has adopted many CSA codes as standards for equipment and installation. Licensing and premits for Gas Fitters is under the autiorty of the BC Safety Authority.

CSA-B139-04 Installation Code for Oil-Burning Equipment
Installing, inspecting, regulating, servicing or manufacturing oil-burning equipment, is regulated by the CSA-B139 Installation Code for Oil-Burning Equipment. Knowledge of this document is the best way for you to be sure that you?re working with the most current procedures, meeting the latest requirements and ensuring the safest working conditions possible. The new Year 2004 Edition of the Code covers the minimum requirements for the installation of, alteration to, or addition to oil-burning equipment, including accessories, heating distribution systems and related appliances.

Office of the Fire Commissioner
The Office of the Fire Commissioner Permit form (Pursuant to the Fire Services Act and Regulations) may only be issued for the construction and operation of bulk plants, process plants and distilleries, and the installation and operation of fuel dispensing stations as identified in sentences 4.12.2.1. and 4.12.3.1.of the BC Fire Code. This permit form is not to be used for the installation of CAN/CSA-B139-00 oil burning equipment.
