The Association of Canadian Publishers represents Canadian-owned book publishers, with members from all provinces, and publishing sectors including literary, general trade, scholarly and education. In all its activities, the ACP aims to encourage the writing, publishing, distribution and promotion of Canadian books.
Jack Wayne, President of the Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP) is delighted to announce that Carolyn Wood has been appointed Executive Director of the ACP. A librarian by training, Carolyn has over twenty five years of experience in our industry. Her previous positions in publishing have included a wide range of activities, most notably as Marketing Manager and later Vice-President of the University of Toronto Press. Carolyn has served on more than half a dozen boards of directors, including the ACP Council, and is a past president of the Organization of Book Publishers of Ontario. In the last three years she has honed her mediation and negotiation skills while acting as a consultant to various organizations, including several book publishers.
Carolyn is uniquely qualified, by virtue of her education, rich experience in Canadian publishing, and interpersonal skills to exert strong leadership in our industry. Her selection was unanimously endorsed by the ACP's Council. She will begin her duties with the ACP on Monday, October 2, 2006.
The Association of Canadian Publishers is the national collective voice of English-language Canadian-owned book publishers. The ACP provides leadership and representation of shared values and interests to government, trade and public, and supports them in advancing our national literature.
