Resources for Rural Canadians

Several resources are in place to assist entrepreneurs across Nova Scotia. We’ve created a list of organizations in your county that may be assistance to you.

Canada Business – Nova Scotia (CB-NS) has entered into partnerships to create the Community Business Resource Network (CBRN), so you can access business resources and assistance in your region.

Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) has created 41 Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs) across rural Atlantic Canada. The CBDCs assist in the creation of small businesses and in the expansion, modernization, and stabilization of existing businesses. Counselling, advice, and financing up to $150,000 are available.

Regional Development Authorities are located throughout Nova Scotia to lead economic development at a local level so communities may build competitiveness and capitalize on market opportunities. To find the business development and counselling services nearest you, view a list of locations.

The above resources relate specifically to entrepreneurs in rural communities. For additional information, please search our site, refer to our Business Guides, or contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable Business Information Officers.
