Description:

Detailed financial and employment statistics on small businesses in Canada can be obtained from Statistics Canada's Small Business Profiles (SBP) datqbase. The SBPs provide 5 types of information for small business at the 4-digit SIC code level - income statement, balance sheet, financial ratios, employment and profitable vs. non-profitable businesses.

NOTE: The SBP database includes statistics on businesses with annual revenues under $5 million. Data is available for 1993, 1995 and 1997. Users of the SBPs should make a point of reading the description provided with the program - under the "What is Performance Plus" icon.
