Environmental Acts and Regulations Web site is a gateway to online federal and provincial resources about environmental acts and regulations. As well as summaries, the site provides contact information and links to the full text of the Act or regulation on the Department of Justice's online database.

Eligibility Criteria

Importer, exporter, business owner, or any individual involved in activities that may affect Canada's laws in areas such as the environment, water, weather or wildlife.

Summary

The gateway is part of Environment Canada's Green Lane^TM Web site and will help you access online Canadian legislation and regulations related to the environment.

The gateway, Environmental Acts and Regulations, provides:

• summaries of Federal Acts relevant to Environment Canada's programs and responsibilities;
• summaries of the regulations that fall under these Acts;
• contact information - to reach Environment Canada employees;
• links to the Department of Justice's database - to review the full text of the Act or regulation online.

The site is simple to navigate and the information is clearly written. Two easy ways to search for information are as follows:

1. choose the section in which you are interested from the left menu bar, then click on the Act or regulation that you are researching; or
2. from Search "Enviro-Regs" from the bottom of left menu bar, type one or two keywords to search for summaries on Acts, regulations or both.
