On January 1, 2003, Health Canada's amendments to the Food and Drug Regulations for nutrition labelling, nutrition claims and diet-related health claims were published in the Canada Gazette, Part II. Manufacturers had until December 12, 2005 (or for small manufacturers until December 12, 2007) to comply with the new regulations, with some exceptions.
