FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program (NODP) provides funding and assistance to projects that will bolster and improve the long term economic and social well-being of Northern Ontario.

Program contributions are available to support projects in six areas:

  • community economic development;
  • innovation;
  • information and telecommunications technology;
  • trade and tourism; 
  • human capital;
  • business financing.

Eligibility Criteria

A broad range of non-profit organizations located in Northern Ontario can apply. For-profit businesses can apply for human capital, innovation and technology support. Applications submitted by organizations outside of FedNor's traditional boundaries may be accepted if the applicant can demonstrate that the project will significantly benefit the economy of Northern Ontario.

Eligible Area

FedNor’s NODP promotes economic growth throughout the North – stretching from Muskoka to James Bay, and from the Manitoba border to Quebec, the NODP covers a large and diverse geographic area.

FedNor is a federal regional development organization in Ontario that works with a variety of partners, as both a facilitator and catalyst, to help create an environment in which communities can thrive, businesses can grow and people can prosper.
