The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) dairy inspection program's objective is to help ensure that dairy products leaving CFIA-inspected establishments, or being imported to Canada, are safe, meet standards and are appropriately labelled to avoid fraud under the Canada Agricultural Products Act. Most program activities are delivered at federally-registered establishments, with some laboratories being accredited to perform analyses of dairy products.
The CFIA's dairy inspection program applies to any establishment engaged in the interprovincial or international trade or movement of all dairy products.
