Quality testing of dairy solids such as cheese, butter and ice cream includes the Standard Plate Count, Yeast, Mold and Coliform Counts.

Fish Health
The Provincial Fish Health Laboratory was formed to provide quick and accurate diagnostic services to New Brunswick's expanding Aquaculture industry. Presently located in Blacks Harbour NB, the Fish Health Laboratory provides diagnostic testing and screening for the different disease states affecting aquatic animals. Current surveillance and screening programs aid the Government and Private veterinarians in determining the health status of not only a single farm but also the industry as a whole.

Veterinary
The Provincial Veterinary Laboratory has the mandate to provide high quality, efficient laboratory diagnostic service to support the provincial veterinary service, the provincial meat inspection program, and the growth and development of New Brunswick's livestock industries.  The principal focus of the laboratory is diagnostic testing of specimens from food-producing, fur-bearing and other agricultural animal species, including horses. However, since the laboratory provides the only comprehensive veterinary laboratory diagnostic service in the province, it also deals with specimens from other animal species (mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians) including wildlife, companion animals, exotics and zoo animals.
