The program objective is the promotion of Canadian interests abroad by supporting professionals in the Canadian film and television industries, who may apply for grants to support their participation in international events with a view to the sale of their products abroad and the stimulation of international co-productions. Applicants should have demonstrated experience and success in their field; there should be a detailed marketing plan, based on clear objectives and a written invitation from the host event.
The objective is to enable Canadian international film festivals to invite foreign buyers for the purpose of promoting Canadian films and television programs on the international market. Applications should be made in writing at least four months in advance and a list of proposed invitees should be submitted for approval at least one month before the beginning of the festival.
The amount of funding per project depends on the availability of funds and generally covers the cost of return economy international airfare. Eligible requests cover those initiatives that are not supported by the various programs offered by Telefilm Canada (see the document Telefilm Canada - Funds and Programs.
