Saskatchewan has been the birthplace of a number of technology accomplishments that include developing Canada’s first automated banking machines.
Description

  • The Executive Director of Communications oversees the fulfilment of policies, procedures and standards in strategic communications across government to ensure information on government programs and services is provided to the public, media and other audiences in a timely, accurate and effective manner.  

  • The office is responsible for Communications Counselling, Communications Services/Print Procurement and Media Services/Media Relations. Communications Counselling provides counselling, strategic direction and overall co-ordination and oversight to the communications delivery system in government.

  • Communications Services/Print Procurement administers the terms and conditions of the government's fair and equitable process for contracting communications services and printing requirements.

  • Media Services/Media Relations prepares and distributes news releases and provides assistance to ministries, agencies and Crown corporations in the preparation of news releases and news conferences. It also co-ordinates the day-to-day media relations for the Premier's Office and Members of Executive Council.

  • The counseling area is staffed with professional communicators who provide leadership, direction and strategic communications advice to officials in government ministries, Crown corporations and agencies.
