Get started here

If you own farmland in Manitoba, you may be eligible for a rebate on the farmland portion of your school taxes.

A rebate of 33% was introduced in 2004, with an increase to 50% in 2005, 60% in 2006 and for 2007 the rebate has risen to 65%. The rebates for 2008, 2009, and 2010 are increasing to 70%, 75% and 80% respectively.

Your farmland does not currently have to be in cultivation or used for grazing in order to be eligible for the rebate. The rebate applies to the farmland portion of your school taxes and does not apply to residences or other buildings on your farmland.

The deadline for submitting the application for the rebate is three years after the end of a taxation year.

Applications for the 2005 rebate must be received by December 31, 2008.

The 2004 rebate availability expired on December 31, 2007.

If you require further information, please view the questions and answers document links below, or contact the Program Coordinator at FSTR@masc.mb.ca, or 204-726-7068.
