Regional Operations

Regional Operations Division co-ordinates delivery of programs and
services at the community level, including:
- Field activities for resource and environmental management,
- Compliance and enforcement activities related to natural
resource, public health and environmental legislation –
delivered by Environment Officers and Resource Officers,
- Livestock manure and mortalities management,
- Environmental Services (includes dangerous goods handling &
transportation, petroleum storage, contaminated sites, waste
disposal and onsite wastewater),
- Operation and maintenance of Provincial Parks, including
provision of public safety & security,
- Response to environmental emergencies,
- Wildfire prevention and suppression,
- Protection of people, livestock, crops and property from
predators and other wildlife.
Programs and activities are delivered in six rural regions:
Northwest Region, Northeast Region, Central Region, Eastern
Region, and Western Region, and supported from
Headquarters Operations in Winnipeg. Multi-disciplined full-time
and seasonal staff working from 59 community-based district and
regional offices as well as Headquarters offices in Winnipeg carry
out the work.
