Enhance public safety through the development, communication and administration of commercial motor carrier and short line provincial railway regulatory and safety services, in a manner that protects infrastructure, supports sustainable development, and promotes the economy while valuing the diversity of our people, innovative culture and public stewardship.

Program Activities

Motor Carrier Enforcement – Enhance public safety, promote the economy, support sustainable development and protect Manitoba’s investment in highway infrastructure through the development, administration and communication of compliance and regulatory programs, services and regulations that facilitate movement by commercial motor carriers in a safe and efficient manner and promote uniform compliance with provincially, federally and internationally accepted standards.

Motor Carrier Safety – Provide effective and efficient means to monitor commercial motor carriers at the corporate level, and affect improvement in motor carrier safety. Provide motor carrier safety information to the public and detailed fleet and driver information to the motor carriers. Provide administrative and training support to the division and outside agencies.

Motor Carrier Permits & Development – Enhance public safety, promote the economy, support sustainable development and protect Manitoba’s investment in highway infrastructure through the development, administration and communication of compliance and regulatory programs, services and regulations that facilitate movement by commercial motor carriers in a safe and efficient manner promoting uniform compliance with provincially, federally and internationally accepted standards.
