NB 9-1-1: Your Emergency Lifeline

The Province’s 9-1-1 system is important to every New Brunswicker.

It is all about getting the right emergency provider at the right place faster to save more lives and property. It is your lifeline in an emergency.

9-1-1 is for Emergencies - You should call 9-1-1 only in urgent situations.

Stay on the Line

After you dial 9-1-1, please stay on the line. Do not hang up! Your call will be answered.

Once you reach the 9-1-1 operator, answer all the 9-1-1 call taker’s questions. Do not hang up until the 9-1-1 operator tells you to do so. If you are calling from a wireless phone, leave your phone turned on in case the 9-1-1 operator needs to reach you.

 
Important Information

When calling 9-1-1 stay calm and speak clearly. Always give your name, your phone number, and your location.
