Overview:
Use of highway right of way by utilities
 
Eligibility:
A public utility may apply for a highway usage permit by submitting an application to the Minister, as well as any other documentation the Department may request.
 
Description:
For right of way usage by the utility companies (NB Power, Aliant, Rogers). Rate determined in written agreement between the department and utility company.
 
Details Fees: (Unless otherwise specified, the harmonized sales tax (HST) is NOT included in the Fees.)
List of Fees Rate in $
Arterial Highway (per km) 75.00
Collector or local highway (per km) 37.50
Level I or II highway - for cables above or underground after January 1, 1997 (per km) 2,500.00
Level I or II highway - for underground cables after January 1, 1997 (per km) 250.00
