Overview:
All Auctioneers in New Brunswick are required to license under this Act. Exceptions include persons auctioning Crown property, persons auctioning property being sold by a municipality or under the authority of a court, and persons auctioning goods for a religious or charitable purpose.
 
Eligibility:
Applicants must complete the required form, pay the appropriate fee, and provide a $1,000 bond, as required by the Act.
 
Description:
The Act provides the Consumer Affairs Branch with the authority to suspend or cancel a license in the case of misconduct. The Act also provides procedures for bond forfeiture to cover consumer loss.
