Ravi Pendakur

Ravi Pendakur is an Assistant Professor, Public and International Affairs at University of Ottawa. Prior to joining the University of Ottawa, he spent 18 years as a researcher in a number of federal departments including, Canadian Heritage.

Ravi Pendakur

Ravi Pendakur is an Assistant Professor, Public and International Affairs at University of Ottawa. Prior to joining the University of Ottawa, he spent 18 years as a researcher in a number of federal departments including, Canadian Heritage.

His research interests are in the area of diversity, with a goal toward assessing the socioeconomic characteristics of language, immigrant and ethnic groups in Canada and other settler societies. His recent work has studied the relationship between interaction and participation (social capital) and ethnicity.

His current interests lie in linking social capital attributes to outcomes for minorities in Canada, the United States and Europe. As well, as in the area of minority earnings, assessing the degree to which native-born minorities face differentials across the earnings distribution.
