Social and Cultural Life of Cities covers urban politics and planning, local governance, scientific approaches, practical actions, as well as innovative solutions to improve the social and cultural life of cities and to foster the many linkages that arts and culture have to social and community life. It focuses on: creativity development and the perceived value of arts to the community; barriers to and factors for cultural participation; artistic dynamics and intercultural communication at a local level that bring people together and create interactive social zones.

City Families and Suburban Singles: An Emerging Household Story from Census 2000

"Household change may serve as a better predictor of changes in housing demand, tax base, and services needs than population change. This survey uses 2000 Census data to analyze changes in the number and composition of households in 102 large metropolitan areas between 1990 and 2000. It finds that growing cities are adding population faster than households, and that declining cities are losing population faster than households."
