Author Biography
Dr. Faiza Hirji: Dr. Faiza Hirji is an instructor at the School of Journalism and Communication, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. Her research interests include diasporic media, transnationalism, civic engagement, and the way that various media interact with gender, ethnicity, and youth. She recently completed a dissertation on the topic of nationalism and religion in Bollywood, and the way these themes are read and used in the construction of identity for young Canadians of South Asian origin.
