Education & Interpretation

Provincial Parks, Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve and Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve have knowledgeable park interpreters who can take you on guided tours or engage you and your family with fun filled learning activities. Educational games, audio visual presentations camp fire programs and many other experiences await everyone in a park or wilderness and ecological reserve.

The following places have interpreters who will help you learn about the many natural secrets awaiting you in a Provincial Park and Wilderness and Ecological Reserve:

The following are regular events held in all Provincial Parks and Cape St. Mary's. Please note that events vary greatly from place to place and may be rescheduled due to weather and other factors.

Event Date(s) Description
Discovery Day June 24, 2008 A celebration of the discovery of Newfoundland. Activities include games for family and children.
Canada Day July 1, 2008 A special ceremony to celebrate Canada's birthday and remember those who fought at the battle of Beaumont Hamel. Cake, refreshments, games and activities for family and children.
Parks Day July 19, 2008 A celebration of Canada's parks. Part of a national network activities including environmental games and activities and a whole lot more.
Park Visitor Appreciation Month August, 2008 A special thank you to our visitors, prize give aways and a series of unique events throughout the parks. Some lucky camper will become Park Manager for a day.
