B.P.H.E., M.Sc. Lakehead, Ph.D. Toronto;
Professor
Welcome to the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation’s website. As you browse our site, you will catch a glimpse of the wide range of degrees we offer and the fascinating research we undertake.
As a School, we take pride in the quality of our undergraduate and graduate programs, and the emphasis we place on creating a sound learning environment for our students.
We work hard to advance our research output, maintain quality teaching, and active involvement in the community. We adhere to close working relationships between graduate students and research supervisors, professors/instructors and students in classes, and student advising for course registration.
Our research is innovative, covering a broad range of topics from obesity to offshore survival, from pedagogy to basic neuromuscular investigations, to athletes/participants with disabilities, and coach development.
Our students have the opportunity to combine classroom learning with on-the-job experience in our well established Co-op Education Programs. Our programs provide student-athletes with an opportunity to compete against athletes from other member schools in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) Conference.
Conference champions advance to national university sport championships to vye for the national crown. Many of our SEA~HAWK teams have enjoyed championship success at the AUS level and have been ranked nationally for their athletic success. The School continues to seek opportunity for collaboration and partnership across campus, in the community, and beyond.
If you have questions about our undergraduate programs in Physical Education, Recreation, or Kinesiology, please contact our Academic Program Officer.
If interested in our graduate
program, contact the Chair of our
Graduate Studies Committee, and if you are interested in
varsity sport, contact our Athletics Office. If you have
suggestions for the improvement of our website, please let us know.
Thank you for visiting our website, and I look forward to meeting you soon in the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation.
