Sand, Sea and Sky is your chance to participate in a hands-on exploration of Newfoundland's unique coastal marine ecosystem. The one-day excursion--offered on two dates in early August--takes place in the beautiful and historic surroundings of Petley and Ireland's Eye (Smith Sound) and is led by that most engaging of seafarers, Captain Jan Negrijn.
Your outting includes lunch, a trip aboard the Coastal Explorer, a working marine science vessel, fully equipped and safety certified for tours, and participation in a variety of marine research activities, all for just $129. Note: Transportation to and from the tour site is the responsibility of participants and is NOT included in the cost of the offering.)

Tour Two - Sat., Aug. 9, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Book early to ensure your space!
Of course, if you prefer to do your learning indoors--as many of us do--we have our usual wide selection of informative, engaging classes to choose from including five other new offerings:
In the personal development area we have...
• The Valleys of Chile: A wine tasting/appreciation class focusing on Chilean reds and whites,
• Incredible Edibles for Your Summer Soirees with the very popular Chef Roary MacPherson, and
• Introduction to Blogging with veteran blogger and professional communicator, Geoff Meeker.
• The Art of Drawing Animals with artist and award-winning website co-creator, Julie Whalen.
In the professional development realm, we have...
• Competing for Employees in Boom Times - a very timely offering given the tight labour-market in which businesses are operating today.
And for the youngsters in our audience...
• Don't forget about our always popular Kids on Campus Summer Youth Camps program which gets under way at the end of the school year.
As for the rest of our offerings, a complete list is available in our recently released Spring/Summer brochure, which went out in the mail the week of March 16. If you're not on our mail list and would like a copy, give us a call (737-7979), send us an e-mail (lifelong.learning@mun.ca) or download a PDF copy from this website.
However you get to us, we look forward to having you join us this Spring/Summer.
Happy learning!
