Memorial University's Department of Political Science prides
itself on strong teaching, being open and responsive to students
and, where possible, getting to know them.
Our areas of research specialization include Newfoundland, Canadian, International, European, Latin American, and American politics, political behaviour, political theory and the politics of public policy.
Undergraduate students can choose to major or minor in Political Science or complete a B.A. (Honours) in Political Science. Students can also gain job experience by enrolling in a local work internship for a semester. They can even spend a semester on an international exchange in Europe.
Graduate students can complete a one year Master of Arts in Political Science with thesis, or a one year M.A. with a work internship, or study for the M.A. as a part-time student.
