The President and Vice-Chancellor

Dr. Eddy Campbell became acting president and vice-chancellor of Memorial University of Newfoundland on January 1, 2008.
He replaced Dr. Axel Meisen who served as president from September 1999 until December 2007.
Memorial University is a comprehensive university, ranked 5th
of 11 on the 2004 Maclean's list of comparable Canadian
universities.
The annual operating budget approaches $300 million and the 900 permanent faculty members and 2,500 staff members are located on four main sites:
- St. John's campus
- Marine Institute in St. John's
- Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook
- Harlow Campus just outside London, England.
