    NEW SPRING COURSE: A new section of RELS 1000: Religions of the World, is now being offered in the spring term, 2008! If you need a spring course, it will be slated in slot 18, that's Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30-11:45. Only TWO WEEKS to sign up!

  • Spring 2008 Courses now available.

  • The Department is pleased to announce two new undergraduate courses: 1) RELS 2850: Religion in Contemporary Canada, and 2) RELS 3800: Re/Presentations of Muslim Women. Look for both courses to be offered in the Winter of 2009.

  • GRADUATE PROGRAM: We still have some spots available for September admission to our MA program. If you have a BA degree with a strong major or honours in Religious Studies, why not consider doing an MA? Financial support is available. For more information click on the link to the "Graduate Program" in the left hand column of this page, or call the Dept at (709) 737-8166 or (709)737-3539.

  • Congratulations to Dr. Patricia Dold for winning a Shastri Faculty Research Fellowship from the Shastri Institute. Dr. Dold will be travelling to India to study a goddess temple near Gauhati, Assam.

  • Congratulations to Dr. Jennifer Selby for winning a Fulbright Award. Dr. Selby will tenure the award at Harvard University during the winter term of 2008.

  • UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS WINNERS: The Department would like to congratulate its undergraduate scholarship winners for the 2007-2008 academic year: David Bennett, Daniel Murray, Courtney Langille, Lisa Abbott, and Jessica Ford.
