Guelph Day 30-something: Fretting Has Benefits
Submitted by Mark Kersten on 2 September 2008 - 8:46pm.
Just a really cool and quick thing I'd like to share with all of you.
I was fretting politics on the phone, worrying about the future, stressing and getting things done whichever way they could possibly get done. No need for details, but it's been a tough couple of days!
I got back into the office and this man came in and said to me "Hey, I saw what you did. I'm going to blog about it."
Turns out it was the campaign manager for Bob Senechal, the former provincial Progressive Conservative candidate.
This was his blog: http://greenguelph.wordpress.com/
Compliments don't come by all that often in politics, but I'll remember this one forever!

Someone should submit that to the Mercury.

LOL blog post! Getting funky picking up litter
I laughed out loud reading Cam Guthrie's blog post Walking the Talk While Talking and Walking! at http://greenguelph.wordpress.com/
And it's true, compliments don't often occur in the old-line traditional parties -- attack ads are more the order of the day.
But in the Green Party we're different. Yes, we're here to save the planet, but we're also here to have fun . A friend of mine has a great saying -- "if it isn't fun, it isn't sustainable."
So here's another compliment . . . until now it's been kept relatively quiet . . . Mark's happiness while walking around the parking lot picking up garbage is in fact driven by . . . a deep desire to frequently look down at . . . his funky shoes . . .
Mark Kersten makes a fashion statement with his funky shoes. While Canvass King Neil Dubois recognizes that he is not worthy.
Want happy feet? Get funky shoes.
I have never seen such a funky pair of shoes in my life. So when you want to have happy feet, get funky shoes.
Shoes
I'm a fan of funky shoes :p
When you get back though Mark, you'll have someone to compete with again...
I never realized that before!
Wow Jim, I think you're right. Mark's OCD-type compulsion of picking up garbage is all because he doesn't want the garbage contaminating his funky shoes! How did I not see this before?
