From the drop of the writ to the final results, CPAC is Canada’s destination channel for complete and unfiltered coverage of the 2008 federal election. As candidates hit the campaign trail to win a seat in the House of Commons, CPAC’s Vote 2008 puts viewers on the ground and in-the-know for the most in-depth coverage of regional and local issues by any national network.

Election coverage is the height of what we do at CPAC because every day of the year, we’re focused on politics,” explains CPAC’s Executive Producer, Peter Van Dusen. “Because voters will ultimately determine the outcome of this election, we’re providing full viewer-access along the way through daily phone-ins and interactive online opportunities.”

CPAC made election campaign history in 2004 with the introduction of the first publicly available nightly election tracking poll, and again in 2006 when CPAC-SES’ final tracking numbers came closest to the actual outcome, nearly matching those reported by Elections Canada. Set to deliver more groundbreaking results, CPAC teams up again with Nanos Research (formerly SES Research) as pollster Nik Nanos provides daily snapshots of shifts in public opinion, exclusively to CPAC.

Building on the popularity of staple CPAC programs that let viewers weigh-in, CPAC will open the phone lines nightly with PrimeTime Politics and Revue Politique so viewers can sound off on campaign issues. In addition, Talk Radio is back to sit in on the most provocative talk radio shows in the country.

In the election span of just 37 days, CPAC crews will hit the hustings to file stories from 46 key battleground ridings, reporting on the issues at the forefront of the campaign. Campaign Politics offers unparalleled ground floor views of the candidates and the issues making this show THE essential voters’ guide for armchair politicos and aficionados alike.
