Acrobat Reader and PDF files

Some of the documents on this site are available in Adobe's portable document format (PDF). This is a universal file format that allows you to read, print, or download an online document while maintaining the fonts, graphics, and general layout of that document.

To view a PDF document, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your system. Acrobat Reader is available for free download from the Adobe Web site.

To view a PDF document online, click on the underlined link to the document. To return to this site once you have finished viewing the document, click the “Back” button on your browser.

To download a PDF document to your workstation, follow these steps:

  • Right-click on the underlined link to the document, and select the Save Link As option (for Netscape users) or the Save Target As option (for Internet Explorer users) from the drop-down menu.
  • In the Save As dialog box, select a location for the PDF file and click “Save.”
  • The file will be saved to the location you have chosen.

You may also download a PDF document by clicking on the Save a Copy icon located on the Adobe Acrobat Reader menu bar.

Once you have downloaded the PDF file, you can then use Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.

If you have any difficulty accessing the content of a document in PDF format, please report this problem using our Technical problem report form.
