Luxury barging sounds like an oxymoron, but French Country Waterways combines cruising in Burgundy and Champagne with meals in Michelin-starred restaurants and tastings of premier cru and grand cru wines, all on barges that hold just eight to 12 passengers. Two special deals are available this year. For April departures, the company is offering $250 off rates that are already $1,000 less than peak season. April fares now range from $5,175 to $5,603 per person, double occupancy. And for those who were married in a year ending in 0 or 5, the company is offering discounts that equal the number of years: 5 per cent for the fifth anniversary, 15 per cent for the 15th, up to 50 per cent for the golden anniversary. The anniversary discounts apply to departures weekly from April 4 to Oct. 31. The offers cannot be combined and are subject to restrictions.
