Michelle Wie signed an advertisement contract with a South Korean real-estate developer yesterday, as she wrapped up a trip to the country after succeeding in making the cut in a men's tournament. Under the two-year contract, the teenager, who speaks Korean, will appear in TV and newspaper commercials for ShinYoung Co, which didn't disclose the amount of the contract. South Korea's Yonhap news agency, however, reported the deal was worth $3-million (U.S.).

Casey Martin, who successfully sued the U.S. PGA Tour to use a cart in competition because of an illness that made it painful to walk, has been hired as golf coach at the University of Oregon. Martin, 33, has Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber Syndrome, a circulatory disorder that makes it painful to walk more than a short distance and limits the use of the leg.
