Social Policy Issues

The CAB represents the interests of Canada's private radio, television, and specialty and pay broadcasters on a number of social policy issues. The CAB is responsible for developing industry standards in the form of self-regulatory codes that address issues of ethics, sex-role portrayal, advertising to children, and violence. The CAB also represents private broadcasters' leadership in the areas of closed captioning, alcohol education, descriptive video and most recently cultural diversity.
