The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is responsible for enforcing a number of Acts of Parliament in order to deliver inspection and related services for consumers and industry that contribute to food safety, animal health and plant protection.

As part of its ongoing effort to increase awareness of CFIA's role in encouraging compliance with the various Acts and Regulations, the CFIA issues prosecution bulletins when a conviction is obtained.

March 2011

• March 21 - Alfred Isaac, Doing Business as Log Barn Food Co. Pleads Guilty to Five Counts
• March 21 - Good Hope Colony Farms Fined for Violating the Food and Drugs Act

February 2011

• February 23 - The company Les Aliments Rose Hill Inc. is ordered to pay a $2000 fine for offences under the Meat Inspection Act
• February 23 - G.C. Campellone Fruits and Vegetables Ltd. and its President fined $7000 for an offence under the Fish Inspection Act
• February 23 - Bruce County Forest Products Ltd. fined $5000 for an offence under the Plant Protection Act

January 2011

• January 20 - Dr. Earl Van Assen Pleads Guilty to One Count of Violating the Health of Animals Act
• January 18 - Univar Canada Ltd. Pleads Guilty to Ten Counts of Violating the Fertilizers Act
• January 18 - Clearbrook Grain and Milling Pleads Guilty to Improper Use of Medication in Animal Feeds
