Confirmation of consequences to the implementation of the protocol for canned vegetables from
China
- Any shipments of Chinese canned vegetables with only the old
code (i.e. letter and number) appearing on the cans will be refused entry
into Canada.
- Any shipments of Chinese canned vegetables with the old code and the sanitation
registration code appearing on the cans will be accepted entry into Canada, however, only the sanitation
registration code will be utilized in the administration of the Chinese canned vegetables procedures.
- Any shipments of Chinese canned vegetables with no sanitation
registration code appearing on the cans will be refused entry into Canada.
- Only shipments of Chinese canned vegetables with a sanitation registration code
appearing on the cans will be accepted entry into Canada.
- Any shipments of Chinese canned vegetables with a sanitation registration code
not on the Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine/Certification and Accreditation
Administration approved list appearing on the cans will be refused entry into Canada.
- Any shipments of Chinese canned vegetables that has not been identified with the
approved Chinese establishment will be refused entry into Canada.
- Any shipments of Chinese canned vegetables not accompanied with an
Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Export Certificate will be refused entry
into Canada.
- When a Category is given to an establishment further to an inspection result for
one of the products for which the establishment has been identified, all the products from that establishment
will obtain the same Category. (This is to be reviewed 6 months following implementation of the new Protocol
by Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine/Certification and Accreditation
Administration/Canadian Food Inspection Agency).
- All the inspection results, for all the Chinese canned vegetables identified
vegetables to the approved establishment will be compiled to establish the Category of the
establishment.
- The existing Category identification for the establishment under the Chinese
Canned Mushroom Protocol will be transferred to the Chinese Canned Vegetables Protocol upon
implementation.
