Criminal Justice

The Department of Justice supports local events and projects that help give victims of crime a more effective voice in the criminal justice system and raise awareness about the issues victims face. This funding is distributed across the country, with an emphasis on northern and rural communities.

We also provide funding for projects that support and treat young people who are in conflict with the law, as well as organizations that are working to improve the youth justice system and respond to emerging issues.

We support organizations that are working with Canadians to reduce family violence. Funding is available for projects that improve the way professionals and the criminal justice system respond to family violence. Support is also available for tools that help raise awareness among all Canadians, especially Aboriginal people
