The Office of the Auditor General of Canada (the “Office”) is committed to respecting the personal privacy of individuals who visit our web sites. This page summarizes the privacy policy and practices of our site.

  • The Office of the Auditor General of Canada does not automatically gather any personal information from you, such as your name, phone number, e-mail or street address during your visit to its web sites. This information is only obtained if you supply it voluntarily, usually through contacting us via e-mail, or registering in a secure portion of the site.
  • All personal information you do provide is protected under the federal Privacy Act. This means that, at the point of collection, you will be informed that your personal information is being collected, the purpose for which it is being collected and that you have a right of access to the information.
  • Any job application which you submit on line will go to E-cruiter, a corporation which is not part of the federal government. E-cruiter is bound by a contract with the Office of the Auditor General of Canada to treat any personal information it receives from job applicants as though it were covered by the provisions of the Privacy Act. Any questions, concerns or complaints you may have about how E-cruiter is handling personal information submitted by job applicants should be directed to the Privacy Co-ordinator as listed below.
  • The Office of the Auditor General of Canada uses software that receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of computers that have connected with our web sites. The Office makes no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site.
  • The Office of the Auditor General of Canada does not use “cookies” to track how visitors use our web site. Whenever we enable “cookies” to facilitate your transactions, we will first inform you. (Note: Cookies are files that a web site can place on your hard drive, without your knowledge, to monitor your use of that site.)
