There are over 150 different types of operational and administrative opportunities available within the RCMP - enough choice to ensure a career of constant growth and learning.

You will start your policing career in general duty at the detachment level. General duty policing is very rewarding and includes a broad range of assignments and the satisfaction that comes with serving Canadians at the community level.

After three to five years of general duty policing, you may have the opportunity to specialize in a variety of areas depending on your policing experience, education, and training.
