Royal Military College of Canada

The Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC) located in Kingston, Ontario prepares officer cadets and naval cadets for a career in the profession of arms and continues the development of other Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and civilians with interest in defence issues. The primary role of the RMCC is to educate and develop Canadians into leaders committed to serving the CAF and Canada.

Undergraduate Studies

For officer cadets and naval cadets of the Regular Officer Training Plan, the Reserve Entry Training Plan or the University Training Plan – Non-Commissioned Members (NCMs), the RMCC degree consists of four interlocking components:

  1. Academics
  2. Leadership
  3. Athletics
  4. Bilingualism

CAF members not enrolled in one of the subsidized education programs can undertake their undergraduate studies at RMCC through correspondence, at a distance or at the RMCC Campus. The RMCC degree is based on the same fundamental philosophical foundation as found through other Canadian universities.

Graduate Studies

The Division of Graduate Studies and Research provides advanced degree programs and professional development for post graduate students in key areas of engineering, humanities, social sciences and science; to carry out scholarly research that will sustain the degree programs and support the needs of the CAF.

The programs of Graduate Studies are open to both Regular and Reserve Force officers and NCMs and to civilians who are either Canadian citizens or permanent residents. International students may also be admitted on a case-by-case basis.

Continuing Studies

The RMCC Division of Continuing Studies makes university education available to all members of the CAF, their spouses and Department of National Defence civilian employees. CAF and other professional training can be recognized for credits towards undergraduate or post graduate degrees at RMCC.
