Multiculturalism

The Inter-Action Events stream, which provides funding of up to $15,000 for events, accepts applications year-round.

This stream is designed to support events that foster one or more of the following:

  • Intercultural/interfaith understanding
  • Civic memory and pride
  • Respect for core democratic values

Community Historical Recognition Program

The Government of Canada established the Community Historical Recognition Program (CHRP) in 2008 for a five-year period. Its purpose was to acknowledge and to educate Canadians about the historical experiences of ethno-cultural communities affected by wartime discriminatory measures and immigration restrictions applied in Canada.

Settlement and resettlement

CIC’s National Call for Proposals (CFP) 2012 is now closed. The deadline to submit applications for funding to support Settlement and Resettlement projects that were local, regional, national and international in scope was September 7, 2012.

Settlement program in British Columbia

The B.C. Call for Proposals is now closed. The deadline to submit applications for funding to support Settlement projects in British Columbia was July 8, 2013, 5:00pm Pacific Time.

Settlement program in Manitoba

The Manitoba Call for Proposals (CFP) 2012 is now closed. The deadline to submit applications for funding to support Settlement projects in Winnipeg was November 30, 2012.

Canadian First World War Internment Recognition Fund

The Government of Canada established the Canadian First World War Internment Recognition Fund to support projects that commemorate the experience of all affected communities during that period. The fund is managed by the Shevchenko Foundation.
