Canada has a strong and longstanding relationship with Haiti and Haitians. The Canadian government, through several departments and agencies, has been an important partner in Haiti for decades now. In addition, several Canadian provinces, municipalities, non-governmental organizations and individuals work with Haitians to respond to the country's needs. Finally, Canada is strengthened by the skills and culture of the many Haitians who call our country home.
