Royal Symbols and Titles

Royal symbols are visual and audio signs that represent the Crown in various ways, while the title “royal” is given to Canadian organizations that meet certain criteria.

Symbols

The monarchy’s captivating history through the centuries has produced numerous images and symbols. Some, like the Royal Anthem, are of undetermined origin, while others, such as the Royal Family Members’ Personal Canadian Flags, tell a very specific story. In addition, The Great Seal of Canada is used on all state documents such as proclamations and commissions of cabinet ministers, senators, judges and senior government officials. The Royal Arms of Canada (coat of arms) are the arms of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Canada. A symbol of sovereignty, they are used on buildings, official seals, currency, passports, publications, proclamations and as rank badges of some members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Titles

Members of the Royal Family provide their moral support or even their patronage to organizations devoted to artistic, scientific, and charitable causes that provide services on a regional level, at least.
