Aboriginal Partnerships

Federal, Provincial, Territorial

AANDC works in close partnership with provinces, and territories and Aboriginal organizations and communities on key Aboriginal and Northern issues such as education, economic development, child and family services, health, and housing.

Strong bilateral (federal-provincial or federal-territorial) and tripartite (federal-provincial/territorial-Aboriginal) partnership arrangements bring together willing partners in concerted efforts to achieve tangible results in these areas. Strong partnerships also promote comparability of on and off-reserve programming, and foster solutions that are tailored to address local and regional challenges and opportunities.

Partnership arrangements benefit from the shared resources and expertise of partners to assist the Government of Canada in meeting its obligations to Aboriginal peoples and Northerners, and deliver Departmental programming.

The interactive map indicates partnerships concluded across the country in different programming area such as education, child and family services, income assistance, health, economic development, housing, emergency management, and Métis Non-Status Indians and urban people.
