Jim Sisson – Acting Regional Director General, Alberta Region

Jim SissonJim Sisson was recently named Acting Regional Director General for Alberta Region of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada. Prior to this recent appointment Jim had been the Associate Regional Director General of Alberta Region since 2008.

He joined the department in 1987 and has held various managerial positions in Alberta Region over the past 25 years.

Jim has extensive experience in managing AANDC programs, land claims negotiations and intergovernmental relations. He has also been a key member of two projects which successfully developed federal legislation to manage land claims implementation and to facilitate large-scale commercial and industrial development on reserve lands.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master's degree in Public Management both from the University of Alberta.

He resides in Sherwood Park, Alberta with his wife and three children.
