Visit Canada

Explore Canada

Every year, more than 35 million people visit Canada to enjoy the many opportunities our country has to offer, including visiting family and friends.

Starting between September and December 2013, citizens from 29 countries and 1 territory will need to give biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) when they apply for a visa.

If you want to visit Canada, you must first find out if you need a visitor (temporary resident) visa.

If you want to travel to Canada for reasons other than business or pleasure, you must apply for the right document. This could be a study permit or a temporary work permit.
