Defence Counsel Services:
Defence Counsel Services provides legal services to persons who are liable to be charged, dealt with and tried by the Code of Service Discipline

Director of Military Prosecutions:
The Director of Military Prosecutions (DMP) is the head of the Canadian Military Prosecutions Service. DMP is responsible for the preferring of all charges to be tried by Court Martial and for the conduct of all prosecutions at Court Martial. DMP also acts as counsel for the Minister in respect of appeals when instructed to do so.

Service Estates:
The Estates and Elections Section of the Directorate of Law/Compensation, Benefits, Pensions & Estates within the Office of the Judge Advocate General carries out the administration and disbursement of military Service Estate entitlements in relation to Canadian Armed Forces members who die while serving full time in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Voting & Elections:
The Estates and Elections Section of the Directorate of Law/Compensation, Benefits, Pensions & Estates within the Office of the Judge Advocate General carries out the administrative process associated with ensuring that the Canadian Armed Forces elector’s right to vote is protected.

Legislative Initiatives:
Information relating to legislation before Parliament that relates to National Defence.

Claims and Civil Litigation:
Claims and civil litigation by and against the Crown, including litigation support and instructions to litigation counsel at the Department of Justice or to agents of the Crown where DND/CAF is suing or being sued.
